To
customize a right-click menu, open any folder, then select Folder Options
from the View menu. Next, click the File Types tab, choose the type of file
you wish to edit, then click Edit. Then, in the Actions display, click New.
The action is what will appear in the menu. Enter the action you would like
to add such as Open or Print. Then, under Application Used To Perform Action,
enter the execution command you would like performed. To see how the syntax
works, open up other Action items and see how they are entered. When you're
done, click OK, then click Close twice.
Sometimes your system freezes while loading a particular program. To cancel
the loading program, hit Ctrl+Alt+Delete, and a menu of open programs will
appear. Click the program that you want to cancel, then select End Task.
To organize items in your Send To folder into cascading menus, open the Windows
folder, (probably located on the same hard drive that your Operating System
resides) from Explorer, click the SendTo folder, select Folder from the New
menu, then place your shortcuts in the new folders.
You
can save a Web page in a single MIME-encoded file which makes exchanging web
pages much easier. Go to the File menu, and choose Save As. Double-click the
folder you in which you want to save the page. In the File name box, type
a name for the page. In the Save as type box, select a file type. Click Web
Archive for Email. This option saves a snapshot of the current Web page. (This
option is available only if you have installed Outlook Express 5 or later.)
With Web Page, Complete and Web Archive, you can view Web page and all its
elements offline, without adding the page to your Favorites list and marking
it for offline viewing. When you choose Web Page, Complete, only the page
you are viewing is saved.
To
save only the text (without graphics or other elements) from a Web page for
offline viewing, go to the File menu, and choose Save As. Double-click the folder
you want to save the page in. In the File Name box, type a name for the page.
In the Save as type box, select a file type, and click Text File. This option
saves the information on the Web page in text format.
